McCain Transition Chief Aided Saddam In Lobbying Efforts Huffington Post 10/14/08:
William Timmons, the Washington lobbyist who John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team, aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime.

The two lobbyists who Timmons worked closely with over a five year period on the lobbying campaign later either pleaded guilty to or were convicted of federal criminal charges that they had acted as unregistered agents of Saddam Hussein's government.
Let us review:

The unethical, illegal and just gosh darn petty Sarah Palin has made a federal case about Obama's association with a guy who was a model citizen at the time they were palling around. Meanwhile, her political mentors were Alaskan Secessionists who hate the US. Also meanwhile, John McCain's associates helped out Saddam Hussein and his campaign staff is stacked full of lobbyists.

Once again, the truth is the exact opposite of what a Republican says. No wonder these guys are losing badly. You can't fool all of the people all of the time. I pity the some that are still fooled.

I brought this up to my conservative coworkers, they roundly denied that any of it is true. They loudly asserted that it was all disinformation created by the Ob(s)ama campaign. Even in the face of unquestionable documentation they maintain their voluntary ignorance, vehemently. It truly scares me.

Sticking one's head in the sand must have some survival value. After all, ostriches are still around...

And you know what can easily be done to you when your head is in the sand?
Apparently the Great American Republican Public likes it.

Martin also pointed out to me recently that the old addage that the Repubs are doing exactly what they are accusing their opponents of doing. It is strange just how true that is.

I've reached the point where it hard to have political discussions with McCain leaners. I just can't understand taking that position. It seems crazy to me. If you believe that we are in the Endtimes and the social issues are the only things that matter, okay; but those who think McCain can lead us to "victory" somehow are beginning to really irritate me.
