I'm saving the last few slots for highly recommended shows. Interviewed Tim Mooney of Criteria fame. Indeed, he pulled up just as I was entering the studios, and his car license plate reads MOLIERE. He's a big fan, and his first solo show was a combination of Moliere's plays. Also played the interview with one of the 1926 Pleasant creators.

Met up with [livejournal.com profile] dreamshark and R for the Lovecraft show. Afterwards, we toured the new Guthrie theater and ate at one of the yuppie "gormet" places in the revamped riverfront district. Delicious, overpriced food.

H.P. Lovecraft's "The Rats in the Walls" Four Stars
Florid Lovecraft gets a good reading Half the fun of reading Lovecraft is his fusty Victorian prose. Very dense, rather icky. I went with a major Lovecraft fan, who explained the story afterwards, which helps. Tim Uren reads the entire story, and reads it very well, though he seemed tired in spots. I was a bit disappointed in the Mill City space, which is tall enough for a crypt but not really rocky enough to be evocative. The DVD will be worth it, if it has liner notes.

Deviled Eggs Four and a half stars
Sad and wonderful Gods and devils have human failures and foibles as they blithely kill billions of mortals for their own petty games. Loads of fun. I didn't learn anything, or have any great questions answered, but the script is hilarious and the acting superb.

That's 30. An average of three a day. More than I thought I'd get to, but spacing myself and choreographing venues prevented burn-out. Still, I'm probably only going to get to one tomorrow, The Wonders of the World: Recite, recommended by several people including [livejournal.com profile] dreamshark and [livejournal.com profile] hunnythistle, iirc. Maybe Normal-C after that, if I'm not too done with it all. I'm not staying up for any of the Encores.
