Finally got what is, I think, the last of the postcards I mailed myself from the Antarctica trip. Vernadsky Station is a Ukrainian research station. They didn't tell us there would be a table selling postcards and stamps, so I didn't bring my address book. Only mailed postcards to myself and [livejournal.com profile] dreamshark... on December 4th, 2005CE. I think it had to go to the Ukraine to be mailed; the postmark is in Cyrillic. What date is "05 FPY 2005" (the "F" looking more like a "T" with half the crossbar cut off)?

The trip Down South has made other, unexpected, connections. I've been asked to write two fanzine articles. It's been a loooong time since I wrote for a zine, and a longer time since I wrote for a zine that wasn't mine. [livejournal.com profile] shsilver pubs his ish (who knew?).

Through an odd combination of egoscanning on Google and an article he wrote about Lee Pelton, I'm going to write one for (hang on to your deeley boppers, MN-STFers) John Purcell. PDF of In A Prior Lifetime #7. Gosh, I should put up more of the pictures from MN-STF/Minicon of the late 70s-early 80s.

Generic reminder that all my Antarctica Pictures are on-line and I'll make you a copy of the CD of pictures taken by Vernadsky Station personnel and send them the money.
