Next week I'm going to Boston for my uncle's 80s birthday. I'll stay for a few days, partly to see my newest niece (actually cousin's kid) who is about 14 weeks old. This means I'm pushing up another music project: Music for infants. A good nap-time group of songs would help the parents a lot, I suspect. At least a CDs worth. I have a few things in mind, but I thought I'd check with LJ Assembled:

What do infants like? What do you, as parents, put them to sleep with? Suggestions welcome.

Classical (Mozart et al), lullabies, Disney, environmental sounds like the sea, jazz?

I'll probably make a separate audio CD for Lily, maybe two. I'll see if I can recreate the CDs I made for Tobe, who was 20 months at the time, perhaps my most successful mix CD. This in addition to the Instant IPod Library project to replace the tapes and music I've been sending to my nephew and family for over a decade, lost during Katrina; currently at 1184 songs and winding down.

Now, off to lunch and then see about who's going where for fireworks tonight...
