Checking on settings

I've managed to import everything from LJ to Dreamwidth. Now, to see if I can crosspost. If you're reading this on LJ, it succeeded. To my pleasure, my LJ scrapbook photos imported, and most of my pictures are stashed on my site, so for the nonce everything seems to work.

Still not all that convinced DW is more than LJ Lite, but what the heck.

I am commenting with two hats. Wearing one hat, I am your online friend; wearing the other hat, I'm a Dreamwidth support volunteer. So would you tell me what happens when you try to crosspost, and I'll see what I can do or explain to help?

Nothing happens. That's the problem.

I set up my LJ in Manage Accounts for a crosspost. Checked the pw. When I make a DW entry, it gives me two confusing options: one a checkbox to crosspost, and another checkbox for barondave@lj. I've tried checking both boxes (though not at the same time) and at no point does the post appear in my lj.

Between this and the inability to upload userpics, it seems DW has a long way to go before it's out of beta. Any help or advice you can give would be appreciated.

Ah, ok. Both those boxes need to be checked at the same time. The reason there are two is that people with paid accounts can have multiple journals set up for crossposting, so the first checkbox means "do you want to crosspost this at all?" and the second checkbox means "which journal do you want to crosspost to?" I'll suggest that that be clarified.

I see this post in DW and think "Huh, I don't think I saw this on LJ." So I go back and check and it isn't on my friends list. I didn't have you friended on LJ. I swore I did. I'm funny sometimes.
