Hello? Hello?

With very few exceptions, all the posts I see are either DW help communities or crossposted to a much more active LiveJournal. While I didn't expect DW to go all Facebook viral, I did see enough interest expressed to make me think it was a viable alternative to LJ. And yet, that hasn't happened. It's been a month, and I still have an invite code that no one wants.

So... is anybody reading this? How has your experience on Dreamwidth been different than that of LiveJournal? Would you still recommend DW over LJ? If so, why?

I'm still using both and reading my reading lists on both. I haven't found/made time to make my big "Dreamwidth and why I like it" post yet, but it's still planned.

At this point, I can't recommend DW over LJ. I cross-post to both places, but it seems like the readers are still over on LJ. I believe most of the DW mania was to create a place of refuge should the new Russian owners of LJ completely foul the waters there.

Meh. I'm not so concerned about that--it's a possibility, but it has nothing to do with my interest in Dreamwidth.

I just created an id as a backup in case LJ goes away or everybody runs over here. I read it occasionally to check if anything is going on, but I just post on LJ and FB.

I too found a lot of commotion, with most folks remaining on LJ. I read DW first now, partly because it's so much faster.

For people who are cross-posting, the LJ posts always obtain lots more comments, and faster too.

I check once a day for posts here, but most are x-posted to LJ. So I only really read here to keep up with two journals.

And this is my first comment on DW, so you win the "Yarram's First Comment Award". *grin*

I read both; the move from LJ is happening slowly, but I expect their next big screwup will speed it up.
