United 93 -- Steel yourself, then see it

United 93 isn't a documentary but isn't quite a standard thriller. You know what happens, and you get to see how it plays out. Yes, it's fiction but it's probably as accurate as we're going to get. You should see the movie to remind yourself of who we're fighting and why our current efforts haven't led to closure from the attack of 9/11.

I was really impressed that so many people played themselves. We find this out in the credits at the end: Many of the FAA and military were the actual people on the job during 9/11.

In retrospect, I think the movie shouldn't have had music. The music was fine, but contrasted with much of the documentary aspects of the movie.

I don't know if it's capital-I Important, but United 93 presents one piece of a large picture with which we are still grappling.

Do you feel closure? I don't. After the 1992 WTC bombing we went after the people who did it, caught them and they are currently in jail. We didn't solve the problem, but we got revenge for that one. Since 2001, we've done a lot to make things worse and the only conviction from 9/11 is a guy who wasn't even there and was deemed too nuts to participate by his fellow terrorists.

I can't speak for K, but the lack of closure I feel has nothing to do with the terrorists...and everything to do with the government. Kicking the Republicans out would do more for me than any movie.

Agree that it's the first step. It's clear the Republicans have their own agenda which does not include making the American people safe. I'm still mad at the terrorists and we need competent leaders.

Zero tolerance for Republicans!
