Anybody up to go to the MN State on Thursday, or even Friday? I like to go early, before everyone's schpeil runs dry. And early in the day: 10am or so, as it will get crowded by early afternoon. Both Thurs and Friday Tonic Sol-Fa is giving a concert in the Bandshell at 11am, and Brave Combo has the 1pm slot. Two great groups. Maybe lunch in the middle.

Plan is to drive to the U parking lot and catch the shuttle. Then start off with All The Milk You Can Drink, though I've done that a lot.

Do they still have Cheese on a Stick? Oh, how I miss that!

I also used to enjoy visiting the poultry exhibit. One year I made a point of looking every chicken right in its face, or at least in whichever eye was towards me. (If the hen was brooding and had her head tucked down, I didn't count that as a minus, 'cause it wasn't my fault.)

I also miss seeing the tractors. And there were often some heavy equipment companies which sold interesting-looking caps. I remember I bought one with a flying mallard drake on it, and another with a wingèd ear of corn (http://www.dekalbcounty-il.com/images/dekagsign.gif) (the unofficial symbol of DeKalb, Illinois).

Every now and then I duck into the Poultry Barn. One year, it was to see all the roosters. Lots of different kinds! Made me appreciate Bob Clampett and co. all the more. One year it was rabbits. I'm not much of a tractor guy, but the Art exhibit can be pretty good.
