Fair on Thurs?

Anybody up to go to the MN State on Thursday, or even Friday? I like to go early, before everyone's schpeil runs dry. And early in the day: 10am or so, as it will get crowded by early afternoon. Both Thurs and Friday Tonic Sol-Fa is giving a concert in the Bandshell at 11am, and Brave Combo has the 1pm slot. Two great groups. Maybe lunch in the middle.

Plan is to drive to the U parking lot and catch the shuttle. Then start off with All The Milk You Can Drink, though I've done that a lot.

Tonic Sol-Fa is great. I've seen several of their Fair shows, and have three of their CDs. They're a doo-wop group who really works the crowd, And while they sometimes channel The Backstreet Boys, their hearts are closer to The Nylons. They do terrific cappella versions of "Eleanor Rigby", "Cecelia" and "Scooby Doo, Where Are You" among others.

Brave Combo is also great. I'd stay just to pick up their CDs. (They won a couple of Grammys for Best Polka Band, or something, but that's only part of what they do.)
